    Abstract: 步行通學是我國國小學童常見的上、放學方式，歐美國家更是時常舉辦步行通學活動來推廣此議題，步行通學以人力來取代私人運具的接送，從環境保護的層面來看，可減少汽、機車廢氣的排放所造成的空氣污染及交通壅塞，降低人們對私人運具的依賴，避免能源的過度耗用；從學童的健康與體能來看，步行通學等同於每日固定運動，可改善兒童的肥胖問題，對於體能上的增進有正面的效益。雖然步行通學有許多好處，但上、放學行走時的安全問題卻是民眾心中最大的顧慮，因此如何確保國小學童在上、放學途中步行通學環境之交通安全，乃是推動步行通學的首要課題。以
