Abstract:	本文的研究目的，即以台北都會區與高雄都會區為分析對象，應用區域經濟理論中之「區位商數法」（location quotient簡稱L.Q.），探討我國南北兩大都會區產業結構及人口與就業的情形，以供公共部門從事政策制定或改革之參考。本文首先探討區域經濟基礎理論與區位商數法之研究方法進行說明，其次根據研究中所採取之定義範圍劃分台北都會區與高雄都會區，並配合歷年實際資料，利用區位商數法分析兩大都會區之產業結構，將產業劃分為基礎產業與非基礎產業，以探討南北兩大都會區產業結構之發展。
