    Abstract: 隨著時代的變遷,早期集合上下學的路隊景象已經由摩托車或安親班接送取代;空間的性質也因為都市化的程度而發生改變,造成舊有的巷道並不適用目前的使用者,形成某種程度的通學障礙。對於老舊社區來說,巷弄是生活空間的一部分,特別是在台灣舊有的城市空間中,因公共設施缺乏,街道遂成為最普遍的公共空間類型,社區通學道就屬於街道型的開放空間,上下學時段雖是以通學為目的,但其他時段則兼具鄰里公園的空間性質。
    另一方面來說,由於「本土化」意識的覺醒,公立國中、小學正趨向於「社區化」的自省中,校園應該是社區空間的延伸,而不是封閉的
