    Abstract: 目前國內建築物若進行性能式設計對於防火避難安全的驗證上,多以財團法人建築中心出版之「建築物防火避難安全性能驗證技術手冊」進行評估,其主要目的在於當火災發生時,建築物內部所有人員避難至安全空間所需的時間,是否小於煙層高度下降到影響人員避難的時間,因此需檢討煙層下降時間,而目前國內計算評估煙層下降時間時,某些特殊的挑高空間是「建築物防火避難安全性能驗證技術手冊」無法評估的,因此國內對於無法以驗證技術手冊評估的挑高建築物,則以實際的燃燒實驗或是利用火災動態模擬軟體進行評估其煙層下降時間。
